Charisa Martin Cairn Musicians

Charisa Martin Cairn [voice], originally from Austin, Texas, Charisa's clear voice comes across like a fine cabernet after a glass of smoky bourbon. An adventuresome musician inspired by the sounds of her upbringing, her explorations range from jazz standards to the voice-and-guitar focused compositions of modern times. Charisa sings what she feels and her voice often hides a surprise or two. (Who writes this stuff anyway?)

Chris Spencer [guitar], versatile enough to handle country, R & B and pop genres, among others, Chris has focused his talents on jazz. His finely crafted interpretations and professionalism appeal to both the serious and casual listener. An accomplished player, instructor, and composer, Chris has worked with well known jazz artists such as Ernie Watts, Mimi Fox, Gene Bertoncini, Gary Dial and Dick Oates. He has appeared at the Atlanta Montreux Jazz Festival, the Hollywood Jazz Festival, and Carnegie Hall.

Jon Pardue [piano]
At the age of three, Jon told his parents that he was going to grow up to be a piano player. A

longtime standards player with an ear for changes, Jon contributes wonderful fun chordal arrangements underneath Charisa's melodies. Jon listens to just about every musical style, but his main influences are Vince Guaraldi, Dave Brubeck, Oscar Peterson, Elton John, Danny Elfman and Jean-Luc Ponty.

Bud Schultz [piano, vibes, and just about anything]

Lionel Kramer [percussion], a veteran of the band stand and studio, joins us by way of South Africa. His drum work adds beautiful texture that brings the sound for the group to a whole new level. A master of timing, control and color, Lionel keeps the pulse of the music alive and expressive.

Steve Sanders [bass]
