From the Elizabeth Zimmermann school of knitting, my approach to patterns are guides rather than stitch-by-stitch patterns.

My approach is pretty simple: learn good technique, understand your stitches, and listen to the yarn. Play with the yarn and see what it does best. Most of all, I encourage a sense of adventure and play as you loop-the-loops-on-your-needles.The offerings on the K1P1Design1 Pattern Website are guides to building what you want, how you want. Knitting is created a stitch at a time, you ought to be able to get it just the way you want it!
